Welcome!

My name is Bailey and I am a senior at the University of New Hampshire Manchester campus, pursuing a bachelor's degree in business.

Aside from being a student, I have found a complete fascination in naturopathic medicine, and I currently go to a naturopathic doctor in the lakes region of New Hampshire.

I have created this blog to talk about my passion for naturopathic medicine and my journey of potentially becoming a naturopathic doctor one day in the future!

Holistic open house

Last week I went to an awesome holistic open house with my mom. My naturopathic doctor, Amanda was there as well. The naturopathic/holistic community is fairly small in the state of NH, so open houses can range from crystal healing, all the way to naturopathic medicine. One booth that really caught my attention was the one providing information about reiki. Essentially, reiki is a form of energy healing. This can be extremely helpful for naturopath’s patients because it also provides spiritual care. After having talked to the woman at the booth for a while, I signed up to receive my reiki I, and II certification this coming weekend! The reiki class runs two full days on Saturday and Sunday in Newton, MA. After receiving the certification for II, and I I will be able to perform reiki on myself and on the surrounding environment. Potentially the Peace Corps?

With finals looming very close as well as the end of the semester, I still have no idea what I want to do when I graduate this coming spring. One thing for sure is that I want to move out of my parent’s house. Having never been on my own before, this is a very intimidating place to be in. I will obviously need to be able to fully support myself. However, getting a 9-5 job is the last thing that I want to do right now in my life. One of my best friends has submitted an application for the Peace Corps and she wants me to apply with her. Applications are due January 1 st , so time is of the essence. I am unsure if the Peace Corps is the route I want to take. Eventually I will need to makeup my mind, which is extremely terrifying yet exciting. Stayed tuned for another update!

My journey to graduation

With the spring semester fast approaching, so does graduation. Even though I still have time to hunker down and figure out exactly what I want to do, it feels like I have no time. I’ve come to realize that this blog has turned more into my journey to graduation rather than my journey to naturopathic medicine. It amazes me how fast things can change in ones life. A few months ago I was set on going to school to become a naturopathic doctor, and now that idea is slowly fading away. The reasons why I am looking at different paths leave me puzzled. I currently now hold the dream of working for a vegan/ethically sustainable fashion company. This could not be further from naturopathic medicine. Because of this I cannot guarantee where my mind will be within the next few posts. Stay tuned to see if my mind changes….
